  • Comprehensive Assessment

  • Assessment Services

Residential Treatment
This highly structured, 12-bed program includes individual, family and group therapy, physical and therapeutic recreation, school and life skills training.  JOURNEYS’ residential treatment program has received nearly 200 referrals in 2004, and has provided service to over 40 Nebraska youth.  Many referrals come from Medicaid/Magellan Behavioral Health, Probation, school systems, and other behavioral health service providers, as well as parents and family members.  JOURNEYS’ Residential provides a home-like environment to both boys and girls, and treatment generally lasts 3-6 months.

Intensive Outpatient
JOURNEYS Intensive Outpatient consists of a minimum of 11 hours per week of group, family and individual therapy. This 15 week program provides Omaha Metro youth with chemical dependency education, life skills training, cognitive therapy, anger and stress management and relapse prevention techniques.  Attendance at all sessions is required.

Community Reintegration
Community Reintegration provides aftercare and support services to individuals that have completed a treatment program and are working to maintain a sober lifestyle in the community. The staff consists of one mental health therapist, a Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Community Treatment Aid.  The staff works hard to help children and families adjust to a sober lifestyle, while meeting goals such as graduating high school or completing a GED, finding and maintaining employment, and developing a support system that upholds their sobriety.  Adolescents in this program participate in weekly group therapy sessions and individual and family therapy on a routine basis.  Community Reintegration staff also provide education to area schools and other public facilities on drug and alcohol prevention and abuse.

Assessment Services
In 2004, 62 comprehensive chemical dependency assessments were completed at JOURNEYS.  Assessment services are available to anyone in the community and are offered at JOURNEYS.  For more information or to schedule an assessment, please call (402) 898-4135.

Chemical Dependency Education
Chemical Dependency Education is offered when a minimum of three youth are in the group.  The plan consists of 15 hours of education over a 2-week period. The first week classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  The second week is Monday and Friday.  Class times are 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and family is required to participate.  This education plan meets the mandatory requirement of the area public schools when a youth is suspended for using alcohol or drugs or having alcohol or drugs or drug related paraphernalia at school. The cost for this class is $150.00 and the youth must be pre-registered to attend.

Outreach/Education
JOURNEYS professional staff is available for on and off site discussions or presentations to adults or children.  Please call 898-4135 to schedule a speaker at your next event.
